FIRST TIME CANDIDATE

In order to qualify to take the MA examination, the candidate must be 18 years of age or older, show proof of completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or show proof of employment performing MA procedures under MD supervision.
Prior to taking the MA examination, the candidate must complete a comprehensive online MA review course, that helps refresh knowledge and cover all covered topics to prepare for the national certification examination. The MA review course is 100 % online, designed to be taken at your own pace and accessible 24/7/365.

INITIAL CERTIFICATION

Renewing before your certification expires? No exam is required. If your certification has been expired for more than 90 days, you must retake the certification exam. Select renewal during checkout.
All candidates must complete 6 CEUs, included with your renewal. If completed elsewhere, indicate this during registration and submit proof if requested by PPA.
Your digital certificate and badge will be issued within 24–48 hours. Hard copies, including your certificate, badge, lanyard, and pin, arrive via USPS within 7–10 business days.
